Blue Scarves for New Readers

RSS

ReadersOn Saturday 29 September, the Cathedral was awash with blue scarves as new Readers in the diocese were licensed - and others were re-licensed.

Following a morning conference in which Canon Steve Allen led on 'Treasure in Clay Jars', every Reader in the diocese who was able to be there was re-licensed for the next three years, after seven new Readers had been admitted and another welcomed from a different diocese by Bishop Colin Buchanan.

The new Readers who received their scarves from their parish priests are:

Jane Brocklehurst for St Helen's Waddington and St Catherine's West Bradford

John Corbin for St Wilfrid’s Calverley

Jacqueline Hird for All Saints Otley

Dawn Jenkins for St John the Divine Menston with Woodhead

Jean Nicholas for St Alkelda's Giggleswick

Elizabeth Reynolds (Lizzie) for St Mary the Blessed Virgin Burley in Wharfedale

Rodney Tickner for All Saints Keighley

Transferring from another diocese was Paul Titchmarsh for St Paul’s Shipley
