The Disability Task Group

A group of people meet as a Disability Task Group to plan and facilitate provision of information, advice and guidance. Our objective is to work towards a church that values the gift of every person and works towards removing obstacles that prevent participation within the Body of Christ.

To seek a representative from each Parish; to bring relevant issues to the attention of their PCC
To provide training throughout the diocese, to help increase awareness of disability issues and to provide pratical help and guidlines for action.
To help churches adhere to the legal requirements and share best practice between parishes.
To promote awareness of issues relating to disability.
To enable access to current information and books on appropriate issues.
To work collaboratively with other organisations involved in ministry with and among deaf and disabled people.

A Training Event in the context of Liquid Worship

Saturday 19^th November

Bradford Cathedral, 10.00am – 1.00pm

Tea/coffee available from 9.30

The Rev Bob Evans who leads Liquid worship regularly in his own church has worked with the Diocese Disability Task Group to create this act of worship. This will include opportunities to experience having access limitations, impaired vision mental health issues and more. There will be zones to choose from to help us to share new experiences, video presentations that will touch our hearts and the opportunity to reflect in the context of worship culminating in a short Eucharist led by The Rev Bob Shrine Ministry in the Deaf Community
