The Disability Task Group

A group of people meet as a Disability Task Group to plan and facilitate provision of information, advice and guidance. Our objective is to work towards a church that values the gift of every person and works towards removing obstacles that prevent participation within the Body of Christ.

  • To seek a representative from each Parish; to bring relevant issues to the attention of their PCC

  • To provide training throughout the diocese, to help increase awareness of disability issues and to provide pratical help and guidlines for action.

  • To help churches adhere to the legal requirements and share best practice between parishes.

  • To promote awareness of issues relating to disability.

  • To enable access to current information and books on appropriate issues.

  • To work collaboratively with other organisations involved in ministry with and among deaf and disabled people.
