The Dioceses Commission have produced their report and we need to make a response to this quite soon. Though the discussion will continue for some years yet, the early responses are the ones that will carry the most weight.
There is an introduction to the report available. You can see it online in this section or you can download a printable .pdf version
You can also find the full report (127 pages) and a 16-page guide to the report
In order to help a Diocese-wide discussion. you can also post your thoughts on this page. To keep things organised, the discussion is divided into the six sections highlighted in the discussion document.
Click the "Comment" button on the left and then select one of the topics. A button will appear to add your contribution. This is an open system and, for safety, comments must be checked to ensure that it is not abused. There will be no filtering by the "Thought Police"! It will be published as soon as possible.
Archdeacon David Lee says:
May I suggest that we look at what the report tries to do in each of these areas, and then see if we can imagine an alternative arrangement which would improve on the proposal? We have a genuine opportunity prayerfully to ‘think out of the box’ and imagine a new and alternative future.
Please keep these matters in prayer, for they are not easy to disentangle and at the end of the day, I trust that we all are seeking the wisdom of the Holy Spirit as we try to put thoughts into words and ideas into ‘do-able’ plans. So let us invest in helping shape our future.
